Short review of Pastor Christian Gabriel Love’s project in the school from some teachers Using laptops in lesson preparation and delivery.
My name is Enock Okata. I teach mathematics. I have 26 students in my class and these laptops that was given to us by Pastor Love has really helped us. Personally it has helped me in my lesson preparation, in my lesson delivery as well and then in my assessment. It has made my work very easy and also I want to say a very big thank you to pastor Love and all the partners who helped in this project.
I’m Samuel Langme, my subject is social studies, there are 30 learners in my class. These are some of the benefits of the laptops pastor love donated to us: 1. It assist learners to always have better picture of what they are taught as they see activities of the lessons being performed on the screen and also it makes my lessons more practical. Thank you so much and I thank pastor love for donating this to the school.
My name is mr. Philip Gordon, I teach in the Demonstration School for the Deaf, I teach Mathematics. I have 64 children and this laptop has helped me a lot in preparation of my lesson and then my lesson delivery, that’s during my lessons, I project, I go to the net, I download other this and I project it for the children to see, read and understand. It also helps me in assessing the children by preparing their scores and their results. Thank you. Thank you so much pastor love for the computer and all the help you have been given to us as teachers and the school. We Love you.
Winfred Kwame Ntumi is my name. I teach science. I have over 40 children that I’m handling. The introduction of laptops by pastor Love has really enhanced our teaching and learning. We have some concepts in science that we find it difficult signing, by the help of ASL we are able to get some of these things and we show it to the children. There are certain presentations that we also get in science that we show it to the children and it enhances their understanding for them to understand certain concepts in science. So we’re grateful for bringing such initiative to the school and for supporting the children to learn easily when it comes to science and above all it also helps in the preparation of my lesson notes. Thank you.
A special Message from HEADMASTER!
My name is Abraham Annang Yemoson and I’m speaking from the school in Ghana known as the Demonstration School for the Deaf.
Over the years, we’ve been in partnership with Dr. Gabriel Love from the USA and he has been so beneficial to our school. Now, our school is made up of KG department, Primary department and also we have the high school department including Vocational and a Deaf blind department as well. Now, the total number of children in the school is Four Hundred and Sixty (460), out of this 460, One Hundred and Ninety-one are females and the rest are males.
Our partnership with Dr. Love has brought us many benefits and the benefits includes: the provision of laptops to all the teaching staff members of the school which is over sixty of us and these laptops has helped in enhancing our teaching and learning. Now in our school we have a major problem which is about space, the classrooms are bigger and the students there are many so with the laptops we are able to prepare our lessons and then we’re able to project them with projectors and then with televisions to enhance our teaching and learning.

And the benefits we gain from Pastor Love has been so numerous, he brought us some money ($7,000) and then we used to in fact purchase all the sports equipment that we have in the school including footballs, javelin polls, football nets, jerseys, tracksuits and many others and these things has helped us and currently our school is one of the best sports schools in the country and when we have sports where we mingle with the hearing or the regular students we even do better.
We recently finished with our Inter Schools sports and we were the overall best in football and then netball. The school is very grateful to Dr. Love. During Dr. Love’s recent visit to the School he brought us some Tablets smaller Tablets that our students are benefiting from, in all it was fifteen (15) and gradually we know he says he will increase it for us for every child to have one. For now we using it in the classrooms and helping the children to be able to access some information and also to assist them (teachers) to be able to teach to pick the lessons that the teachers are teaching them using the laptops, projectors and the televisions.
Dr. Love has been very good to the school and he has a lot of projections for us, on his heart currently is our football field, he has express the willingness to develop it to a world standard where in future if everything goes well we are even going to hold Africa Deaf Olympics in our school. Currently the football field is just grass and he want to make it AstroTurf for us, get us stands for the spectators and then also give us some indoor games like the volleyball will be indoor, netball will be indoors so that the school will have very good name when it comes to sports.
He has also got plans, we have even sent him a building plan for our chapel that is our assemble hall and then chapel, currently he says he is raising funds to get that one, the plan is with him and he is working on it for us. His association with the school has gone a long way to help the staff that anytime he visits he holds lectures for us and these lectures involves different topics and then different areas. The last one we had was on Deaf Culture and then the strategies in teaching or in assessing our teaching and improving our teaching standard. With Deaf Culture, he opened our eyes to a lot of things we can do to help the deaf people that we work with and with the strategies that he taught us in the teaching are also inculcating them in our lessons and this is going very long way to improve the academic standard of the children, the social standard of the children and then the general wellbeing of the child.
Now in his support that he brings to the school, he has also even brought wheelchairs that caters for those that cannot walk and which we are using for our students that uses wheelchairs.
So far he has been good and we know that of the support of his school and his financial partners and others that supports his mission we know it will go a long way to help the school and the name of the school and he has envisaged will be one of the best in West Africa and even the best in Africa. We are grateful for your support, we are grateful for your assistance, we are grateful for your leading and for me personally as I speak as the headmaster or the principal of the school, my relationship with pastor love has opened my light internationally and he has told me so many things that I can also do to help improve the wellbeing and then the welfare of the teachers and the staff and others. In our school because we run the boarding system all the students are in the school, we have house mothers, we have laundrymen and laundrywomen, we have a clinic, we have a nurse and we also have other artisans that helps to support the work of the school and in all these areas Pastor Love is given us support so that the things that we need, equipment and other few things has been able to help us to do well. So I want to say thank you and we look forward to the support, we look forward to the assistance and then we say thank you and God bless you all in all that you do for us. Thank you Pastor Love, thanks to your school and thanks to your partners in helping your mission in Ghana. Thank you vey much.
